Shortly after 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 7, officers were called to the southbound lanes of the interstate near Annapolis Road, where they found Isaiah Shackleford inside his vehicle suffering from a "severe gunshot wound."

Investigators say that Shackleford was driving a gray 2017 Mazda 3 south on South Monroe Street onto the ramp of I-295 and onto the interstate, where they found Shackleford suffering from the gunshot wound.

No details about his possible shooter has been released by the department.

Shackleford was on his way home from work after a DoorDash shift when he was shot, according to his family.

He was rushed to Shock Trauma and later died in the ICU, according to a GoFundMe campaign arranged on behalf of his family. His organs were later donated to "help provide hope and healing for other families in need."

"Isaiah was a son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend to many," his family said. "He was a kind, gentle, and caring young man. His laugh was one of a kind, loud and contagious, always making you smile with him," they continued. "At first he was quiet and reserved, but once there trust built he would talk about all his hopes and dreams."

"He was one of those loyal friends, that stuck by you through thick or thin and wouldn't judge you by your worst day, spending hours catching up with friends on video games or phone calls," his family added.

A GoFundMe prepared by the family can be found here.
